Let us reflect on the work of Jesus Christ this week. Mel Gibson’s “The Passion of Christ” is a vivid gory depiction of the suffering of Jesus. The cross was a fulfillment of many OT prophecies that the Messiah would have to endure to accomplish redemption by the blood of the Lamb. As Jesus has sacrificed his comfort and his life for you, it would be a fitting for you to also abstain and fast one of your comforts in remembrance of Jesus. Perhaps you will fast during the 30-Hour Planned Famine or give up “24″ for a night or give up your PS3 for the week or deny yourself of a life pleasure. All for His glory!
30-Hour Planned Famine
This is a fund-raiser for World Vision, to provide resources for the need of world hunger. The fast begins at Friday, April 6 (finish you last meal by 12 noon) and ends at Saturday, April 7th at 6 pm. After the Good Friday Service, youths will be locking-in at the church all night. Please be picked up by 8 pm on Sat night. You will need a signed parent permission form to participate. Additional sponsor forms are also available here.
Good Friday Service, April 6th at 7:30-8:45 pm
This is a church-wide solemn worship service with hymns, Scriptures, prayer and Holy Communion. Please sit with your family, or with your friend’s family if your family is not attending. Don’t be surprised to see the pastors dressed in full regalia.
Easter Sunday Worship, April 8th at 9:30 am
Jesus is risen, He is risen indeed! Please come early and carpool, as the limited parking spaces are a premium today. For those of you who are serving on the orchestra with the choir or in other aspects of the worship, kudos to you!
