Faith & Politics By Pastor Sandy Liu

America’s separation of church and state never intended for a complete dismissal of moral and religious values in the public arena. Christians have the duty to have a voice in a pluralistic democracy, just as all citizens. Do all Christians have to stick to the Religious Right? How does Scripture speak on the major issues of our times? How does personal faith affect one’s voting choices in the election? Come join this timely dialogue.

Apologetics By Uncle John Lo

How can we share our faith through meaningful conversations? What should we say when people question us about our faith? Come join us as we examine clips of apologetics lectures given by well known Apologists in Oxford University on the topics of “Conversations that Count” and “The Existence of God”. If time permits, we will also have Q&A time.

Wanting to be Her: Body Image By Karolyn Cheng (For Girls Only)

Secrets Victoria Won’t Tell You

Enter: A girl with 0% body fat bearing midriff in a crimson Dolce & Gabana miniskirt with Pantene Pro-V commercial tousled hair, perfectly shiny “Barely there” MAC lip gloss, and Ugg boots struts across the room while holding the attention of 4 guys (one of whom you have a crush on) – all the while wearing a Bebe camisole exhibiting ample cleavage with her strap barely falling off her shoulder.

Read: “Charm is deceptive, beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”

How do we reconcile these two images? Who will I become? Are these two women mutually exhaustive? Is it possible to be both? Come find out with us, as we explore what scripture has to say about our body image, and what the practical implications are for us on a day-to-day basis. Women only please – men need not apply (Don’t worry, guys, there’s a separate just seminar for you!)

Be A Man! By Kevin Yiu (For Guys Only)

Muscular or smart? Mysterious or Sensitive? Confident or easy-going? What should a Christian guy look like? What qualities should he have? What are some misconceptions people have about being a Christian man? In this workshop, we will explore what the bible has to say about being a man and look at how we can better relate to the women around us.

Family Matters By Jon Tang

Families come in all different shapes and sizes. Each family is different. Some have one parent; some have two. Some families seem to be broken up into parts. Sometimes it is hard to understand our parents or even our siblings. However, by learning how to see things from their perspective, we can better understand where they are coming from and how to communicate with them.

Prayer By Serena Chang and Sam Chu

What is prayer, exactly? What’s the big deal? What purpose does it serve? How do we pray? Is there a “right” and “wrong” way to pray? In this workshop, we will explore what prayer is, why it’s important and what role it plays in our relationship with God. We will also look at how to pray, by trying out many different methods of prayer. Everyone is welcome!
