STUDENT LEADERSHIP

Should you join student leadership this year? Good question! Please read the “Student Leadership” page and consider the qualifications and expectations. You should be aware that I will be very serious about holding all to the high expectations. There will be an important Student Leadership Inquiry meeting this Friday, August 29, at 7:30-9:30pm. You are asked to complete and submit the form to Pastor Sandy’s mailbox by Sunday, August 31. The first official Student Leadership meeting is Sunday, Sept 7 from 1:15-2:30 PM in the Youth Lounge.

BAPTISM

Also, if you are interested to be baptized in 2008-2009, you must begin your Baptism Class on September 7th. SS Orientation is in the Chapel that morning, but the class will be held in Room B-01 at all other times. Baptism is a church ordinance as commanded by Christ (Matt 28:18-20). It is a public profession of your faith in Jesus Christ and a mandatory prerequisite for other possible opportunities, such as CBCGB membership, Student Leadership, mission teams, etc. A recommended minimum age for baptism is at least 14 years old, when there are some prior experiences of personal faith being tested and wrestling through doubts. All who are interested should speak to Pastor Sandy or Deacon Terry for guidance.

Welcome Back to ALIVE

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

ALIVE will begin on September 12th. There will be no Sr or Jr ALIVE until then as we are preparing for the new year. Calendars and details are coming soon.

Our theme Scripture is from 1 Peter 2:9-10, which says:
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.”

Love,
Pastor Sandy
