QUALIFICATIONS:

• Baptism (”Pending baptism” requires permission)
• Faithfully follow Christ
• Respectful and submissive attitude to God and authority (at home, church, school, society)
• Have a positive relationship with own parents
• Be a person with integrity and character–honest, loving, peaceable, clean language, etc.
• Have the respect of peers and counselors
• Be a good student (failing classes will not help you succeed as a Student Leader)

The Student Leadership group serves through spiritual influence and responsibility over student-initiated ministry teams, including:

Creative Arts Team:

• Produce monthly youth drama and skit repertoire on various themes
• Collect, publish, write and file original scripts
• Create banners, wall decorations, and signs for youth themed events

Mission & Service Team:

• Plan monthly youth service projects
• Plan a mission-theme program for ALIVE during mission month (November) and the 30-Hour Famine
• Discover & serve in unmet needs within the church and our community
• Hope to appoint one qualified youth to participate with the Mission Committee

Sports Play Team:

• Propose and lead games and community builders for ALIVE
• Help organize and plan games and recreational/sports competitions for retreats and other events
• Create an online list of possible sports, games, and activities (accessible by student leaders & staff)

Website & Media Team:

• Plan, write, edit, illustrate, and print a quarterly web-newsletter
• Document all youth events by photograph, video, audio, distributions, etc.
• Produce the annual youth video scrapbook and other special highlight videos

Welcome & Care Team:

• Send birthday greetings, encouragements, get wells, affirmations, thank you to youths
• Collect visitor registrations (name, address, phone, email, birthdates, etc.)
• Greet all new visitors and introduce them to other teens
• Help organize the youth group to create care packages, special gifts

Worship & Prayer Team:

• Build and empower youth worship team to improve musicianship and passion for Christ
• Organize and lead praise and prayer for ALIVE, special events, retreats, Youth Sunday
• Advocate and develop a prayer ministry in the whole youth group
• Propose ideas for greater youth involvement in church-wide worship services
• Be responsible as stewards of our sound equipment, worship binders, music, overheads, etc.
