  • Timothy Lu

Brother Timothy Lu was born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan and grew up as a pastor’s kid. He came to know the Lord after sixth grade at an evangelistic meeting held by Pastor Thomas Wang. He was baptized in his sophomore year of high school at Kaohsiung Baptist Church. In 1991, after receiving a Master’s degree in computer engineering, he worked as a software engineer at UNISYS in Maryland. While at the Chinese Bible Church of College Park in Maryland, he served on the deacon board, as a Sunday school teacher, and in the choir.  In August 1995, he and his family moved to Boston where he started participating in church worship, choir, Sunday School, the Gospel team, and worship team.  He also was one of the first co-workers to assist in the design and construction of the church network and website. In 2006, he began serving four years as deacon, where he was responsible for Chinese Ministry worship, and in 2007, he began working with student fellowship groups at City Outreach Ministry.  He has been serving on the Board of Elders since 2014.  Brother Timothy loves music and especially loves worshipping God through musical ministry.  He believes that true worship entails a renewed life, offering up not only the physical body, but also the entirety of one’s spirit and heart, being transformed by the renewing of one’s mind, conforming to God’s will. God’s love, righteousness, and mercy will never change, so our minds must be renewed daily in order to test and approve his good, pleasing, and perfect will.  God has given him a burden to build up the body of Christ to serve as a testimony for the purpose of spreading the Gospel to build up worship that aligns with God’s heart and glorifies Him. Let all brothers and sisters learn to be united with Christ, "being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind" (Philippians 2:2). Brother Timothy is currently working as a software engineering quality control manager.  He and his wife Nancy have one son, Jeremy, who recently graduated and is working in Florida.  Jeremy accepted Jesus as his Savior and Lord and was baptized in CBCGB in 2010.
