Stewardship Mission Statement

Maintain and manage a safe and functioning church facility via upgrade, renovation, cleaning, food service, transportation service, parking coordination, fire drill, baptistery preparation, etc. We achieve this sacred goal through faithful service of brothers and sisters in the ministry and we serve in one accord.

Stewardship Description

CBCGB is a thousand+ person congregation with an expansive campus built from the ground up in the early 1990's.  Our large and continually expanding campus has needs both in terms of maintenance work as well as opportunities for new improvements.  Whether the tasks are routine such as keeping the snow plowed and HVAC working, to grander such as looking for alternative energy sources, stewardship is involved.  We realize that when congregants think of God's work, the first thing to come to mind may not be having clean restrooms and freshly planted flowers.  But we are committed to ensuring that our campus is a well kempt, safe, secure, and modern environment; and striving for the highest standards around our facilities is itself an act of worship.

Stewardship involves numerous different responsibilities many of which are taken care of by various volunteers and groups.  For example, we have semi-annual grounds cleaning days where we have fun tidying up the church grounds. We also have our faithful church members who arrive church early on each Sunday to direct the traffic. Many brothers also drive the church buses on Sundays to various senior apartments or T-stations so elder brothers, sisters, and friends can also join the Sunday worship. We know that these are not the most glamorous responsibilities, but they are a vital part of offering to God, and a vital part of what keeps the church running smoothly.  If you are interested in helping out in any area regarding maintenance or improvement to our church facilities, please contact the BoD.

In fact, the operations and maintenance of all church properties, and logistical support to designated church functions, such as transportation, food service, information and telecommunications, and the planned renovation projects such as re-roofing and HVAC for the cafeteria, etc. are handled by the Stewardship Committee (SC), under the supervision of the BOD.  The SC chairman is a deacon appointed by the BOD.  Currently, several sub-committees operate under the Stewardship Committee (SC)

In addition, a full-time paid property manager, Ruth Lu, supports the SC in handling the daily facility operations and maintenance. She can be reached at rlu@cbcgb.org and 781-863-1755 Ext 10.
